BABYMETAL - SETLIST FORTH (guitar cover)
Covering BABYMETAL’s SETLIST FORTH brought a thrilling challenge that really pushed my guitar skills to the next level. Using ESP Guitars, known for their versatile tones and solid build, allowed me to capture the heavy yet clear sound essential for BABYMETAL’s dynamic style. Pairing the guitar with BOSS Pedals gave me control over effects like distortion, delay, and modulation, which added depth and complexity to the cover. What made this experience even more enriching was studying the techniques of renowned guitarist TAKAYOSHI OHMURA, whose style strongly influences BABYMETAL’s live performances. Integrating his style required precision palm muting, fast alternate picking, and seamless transitions between rhythm and lead sections. Recording this cover deepened my appreciation for both the band's unique metal fusion and the gear that brings such music to life. For fellow guitarists interested in metal covers, I recommend experimenting with different pedal setups to find your ideal tone. Also, focusing on replicating subtle nuances in the original music can transform a simple cover into a passionate homage. This project renewed my excitement for exploring complex metal compositions and inspired me to keep pushing the boundaries of my musical expression.
