Celebrating the 100th anniversary of children in Myanmar is a tradition called "A-Son-na-de" (A-zon-na-de), an important day that represents the joy and gratitude that children have grown and become healthy to this day.
Why celebrate 100 days?
In the old days, it was very challenging to care for a newborn from disease and to grow up healthy. Having a child reach the age of 100 days is a critical moment that shows that the child has passed the most vulnerable stage and celebrates the beginning of a new, stronger life.
Activities on feast days
The family will hold a small celebration for relatives and close friends to congratulate, with the following main events:
* Merit ceremony: The family will enshrine the monks to perform a prayer service to be a sign to the child.
* Gift Delivery: Guests bring gifts to children, most of which are for children's use or toys.
* Food catering: A variety of foods are prepared to feed guests. Some foods may have symbolic meanings, such as sticky rice or sweets.
* Nicknaming: On the same day, some families may also take the opportunity to officially nickname their children.
The Aso-Seon-na-de tradition is therefore not only an ordinary celebration, but also reflects the love and concern of the family for the child and passes on the good wishes for the child to be healthy and grow happily in the future.

ถ้าใครกำลังสงสัยว่า “เด็กพม่า” มีประเพณีอะไรที่เกี่ยวกับการต้อนรับสมาชิกใหม่ของบ้าน งานครบ 100 วัน (อะ-ซอน-นะ-เด) เป็นหนึ่งในวัฒนธรรมพม่าที่อบอุ่นมากๆ และพอได้ไปร่วมงานจริงจะรู้สึกเลยว่าไม่ใช่แค่ปาร์ตี้ แต่เป็นการรวมพลังใจของคนในครอบครัวและเพื่อนๆ เพื่ออวยพรให้เด็กแข็งแรง สิ่งที่เห็นบ่อยในงานคือการแต่งตัวเด็กให้ดูสดใส น่ารัก และหลายบ้านจะทา “แป้งทานาคา” บนแก้มให้ลูกด้วย (เป็นเอกลักษณ์ของชาวพม่า) บางงานจัดเรียบง่ายที่บ้าน แต่บางงานก็ตกแต่งสนุกๆ มีลูกโป่ง มีมุมถ่ายรูป เหมือนงานวันเกิดย่อมๆ เลย ทำให้แขกที่มา โดยเฉพาะญาติผู้ใหญ่ ได้เห็นหน้าเด็ก ได้อุ้ม ได้อวยพร ถือเป็นโมเมนต์ที่คนเป็นพ่อแม่จะจำไปนาน ถ้าใครอยากจัดตามแบบครอบครัวพม่า หรือกำลังจะไปร่วมงานแล้วไม่รู้ต้องทำตัวยังไง เราว่ามีทิปเล็กๆ ที่ช่วยได้: 1) ของขวัญที่ให้แล้วใช้ได้จริง ของใช้เด็ก เช่น ผ้าอ้อม ผ้าห่ม เสื้อผ้า หมวก ถุงเท้า หรือของเล่นเสริมพัฒนาการ เป็นตัวเลือกที่ปลอดภัยมาก ถ้าไม่แน่ใจไซซ์เสื้อผ้า เลือกแบบเผื่อโตหน่อย หรือเป็นของใช้สิ้นเปลืองจะไม่พลาด 2) ซอง/ของขวัญเชิงอวยพร บางบ้านก็ให้เป็นเงินช่วยค่าใช้จ่ายเลี้ยงลูกได้เหมือนกัน แล้วเขียนการ์ดสั้นๆ อวยพรเรื่องสุขภาพและการเติบโต (โทนอบอุ่นๆ) จะเข้ากับเจตนาของพิธี 3) อาหารในงานและความหมาย หลายงานจะมีขนมหวาน ข้าวเหนียว หรืออาหารที่ทำกินง่ายสำหรับแขกจำนวนมาก ถ้าเราเป็นคนช่วยจัด ลองเตรียมเมนูที่หยิบสะดวก จะช่วยให้บรรยากาศสบายๆ ไม่เป็นทางการเกินไป 4) มารยาทเวลาไปงาน แต่งตัวสุภาพ ยิ้มทักทายผู้ใหญ่ อุ้มเด็กเมื่อได้รับอนุญาต และหลีกเลี่ยงการจับหน้าเด็กแรงๆ (เพราะมีแป้งทานาคาอยู่ด้วย) ถ้าจะถ่ายรูปก็ควรถามก่อน โดยเฉพาะเวลามีเด็กหลายคนในงาน สิ่งที่เราชอบในวัฒนธรรมพม่าคือความ “ร่วมแรงร่วมใจ” ของชุมชนและครอบครัว งาน 100 วันทำให้รู้สึกว่าเด็กคนหนึ่งไม่ได้โตมาจากพ่อแม่สองคน แต่โตมาจากความรักของคนรอบตัวด้วย ใครเคยไปร่วมงานอะ-ซอน-นะ-เด หรือเคยเห็นเด็กพม่าทาแป้งทานาคาในงาน มาเล่าบรรยากาศกันได้นะ
