Moms: When did you Start Enjoying Weekends Again?

I’m genuinely curious — when did weekends start feeling fun again for you?

For us, it’s always been rough. Having two babies meant weekends were basically just survival mode, and now that they’re two… honestly, it feels even harder. I thought it would get easier, but the energy, the not listening, the chaos, the classic two-year-old behavior — it makes going out almost embarrassing sometimes. I see other families at parks, stores, restaurants looking so put together, and meanwhile I’m just trying to keep my kids from getting hurt or hitting/throwing at others.

I know every stage has its challenges, but I’m wondering if there’s a turning point. When did you start feeling like weekends were enjoyable again instead of exhausting? When did outings start to feel manageable instead of overwhelming?

It’s really helpful if you have a mom friend to do your outings with. You’ll spend very little time chatting and a whole lot of time chasing. But seeing that you are not the only mom incapable of sitting down long enough for a conversation is somehow really comforting, haha!
