I FOUND 30 SAND DOLLARS 💵

Just a girl and her sand dollars 💸

The first time I found a sand dollar on spring break I cried, I always knew I was the happiest version of me at the beach. But living in -1 F in the upper peninsula of Michigan, didn’t exactly fit my vision.

Once I graduated high school I made it my mission to move to Florida, and the day I turned 21, it happened!

Since then my days are filled with long walks on the beach picking shells 🐚 and watching for dolphins.🐬

The winter months are sand dollar season in Florida, and sand dollars can be found sitting on the shore or buried a little bit in sand on the ocean floor. (always make sure they are dead before you pick!) You can tell if they’re alive or not by feeling the underneath for their tube feet.

I take them home and soak them in bleach water to turn them bright white, and I use them as decorations! For Christmas I painted them and attached string to make ornaments and gave them to my family.
