This project made me pass out 3 times 😭
Taking on a DIY project can be both rewarding and challenging, but when you factor in chronic illness and fainting disorders, it becomes an entirely different level of difficulty. From personal experience, working on a complex project like the one that left me fainting three times was mentally and physically exhausting. Chronic illnesses often come with unpredictable symptoms such as dizziness and fatigue, which made every step of the project more demanding. What helped me push through was breaking down the project into smaller, manageable tasks. Instead of trying to do everything in one go, I paced myself and took frequent breaks to prevent overwhelming my body. I also adapted my work area for safety—keeping plenty of water nearby, ensuring good ventilation, and having a comfortable seat to avoid standing for too long. Using fabric scraps creatively not only reduced waste but also gave me a sense of accomplishment amid difficult times. Surprise elements like the Ribbli technique added excitement to the project, keeping me motivated despite setbacks. Sharing this journey encourages others with similar health challenges to pursue their passions safely and thoughtfully. If you have a fainting disorder or chronic illness, remember to listen to your body, seek medical advice when necessary, and don’t hesitate to modify your projects to fit your needs. DIY is ultimately about creativity and joy, so finding a balance that protects your health while fulfilling your artistic goals is key.
