Why I Will No Longer Be Getting Acrylics

I absolutely loved acrylic nails , especially getting bright fun colors for the summer. Unfortunately every time I take them off my natural nails end up becoming thin and so sensitive. Even with soak offs my nails keep getting damaged. Does anyone have any alternatives other than press ons? #s
