Seedlings have sprouted! 🌱

My seedlings have sprouted!!! Not all of them, but lots of them! I have broccoli, tomato and green onions sprouting now. The cucumbers are growing like crazy and my flower seeds are just beginning to sprout! I’ll keep you updated on my gardening this year! #emsgarden #gardeningwithem #garden #seedlings

... Read moreGrowing healthy seedlings requires attention to factors like temperature, soil moisture, and light. I've found that maintaining consistent warmth around 70-75°F helps most seeds germinate faster. For example, cucumber seeds tend to sprout quickly in warm conditions while broccoli seeds prefer slightly cooler soil. One personal tip is to start seeds indoors on a moist paper towel or seed tray to monitor sprouting closely before transplanting. This method lets you see which seeds have germinated successfully and helps avoid planting non-viable seeds. If your seedlings aren’t growing well, check for adequate drainage and avoid overwatering, which can lead to damping off disease. Also, adequate natural or supplemental light is crucial once sprouts appear to prevent weak, leggy growth. Monitoring your seedlings through these early stages is rewarding, especially when you see little green shoots emerge. Keep a gardening journal to track which seeds sprouted first and under what conditions so you can improve your methods each season. Happy gardening! I’m excited to update on my broccoli, tomato, green onions, cucumbers, and flower seedlings as they continue to grow into strong plants.

Can they survive?!
I said “they are good for the rest of the growing season”, so I’m taking that back, they are not good… I might have under watered them, but now I think they are overwatered from all the rain. Long story short, we lost some plants, we probably have to start from scratch, but we’re learning and th

GOT SPROUTED POTATOES???
Got sprouted potatoes? Don’t toss them—plant them! Cut into chunks with at least one ‘eye’ per piece, let them dry for a day, then plant in loose soil 3-4 inches deep. Keep them watered, and in a few months, you’ll have a fresh harvest! #GrowYourOwnFood #PotatoPlantingTips #backyardgarden #
