Violet Syrup Recipe!

I just made this delicious syrup from wild violets in my backyard and wanted to share the process! It turned out soooo yummy!!

( Credit to @theyoungflames on TikTok, she's where I found the recipe! )

🪻 INGREDIENT LIST 🪻

• One cup of wild violets

• One cup of water

• One cup of sugar

• A few drops of lemon juice (OPTIONAL)

🌸WILD VIOLET SYRUP RECIPE🌸

•STEP ONE: Gather one cup of wild violets in a jar. You can typically find these in your yard!

(Note: Do not collect from grassy areas where pesticides and such have been sprayed!)

•STEP TWO: Boil one cup of water and pour the water into your jar, over the violets.

•STEP THREE: Close the lid, sealing the container, and put somewhere cool and dark. A cabinet or closet will do just fine! Let it sit there for 24 hours.

•STEP FOUR: After 24 hours, strain the violets from the liquid. Pour the liquid into a pan on the stove.

•STEP FIVE: Add one cup of sugar to the liquid in the pan!

•STEP SIX: Simmer the violet liquid and sugar on low heat until all the sugar has dissolved. Do not boil it! Boiling will lose the pretty color!

•STEP SEVEN: (OPTIONAL) Add a few drops of lemon juice to your syrup if you want it to turn pink! I didn't have lemon juice, so I couldn't do this part. But you can!

•STEP EIGHT: Add to any sealable container you'd like to store your syrup in, and pop it in the fridge! It'll be good for up to two months in the fridge!

•STEP NINE: Enjoy your delicious violet syrup in coffee, on pancakes, in ice cream, etc!
