Friday Updates! (Yes I reused this image 🤣🤣🤣)

This week I received some really good news from my orthopedic surgeon: Dr. Rhodes cleared me to go back to the gym! My left quad is weak due to that knee healing from surgery so he wants me to begin working that side out only for the next three to four weeks to build that strength back up in that leg. That means it’s time to ease back into my workout routine. Now on to the scale…

I’m down to my last starter shot of 2.5 mg and 181.6 pounds as of today. I’m trying to decide if I want to take that shot or begin the 5mg doses that I have in the fridge. The reason for this dilemma? I found that I had a bit more of an appetite this week but it wasn’t anything outrageous. The food noise is still gone but I actually had a taste for certain things which was nice. Previously I didn’t have a taste for anything so it made dinner for the family easier to plan this week. The grilled salmon I made Wednesday was absolutely delicious as was the spaghetti I made yesterday. The sauce was made from scratch per usual.

I will be out of town next week visiting family so my regular Friday update will be posted on Saturday since my flight gets in really late Friday night.

... Read moreAs I continue my recovery from knee surgery, I've realized the importance of easing back into physical activity. Gradually working on strengthening my weak quad is essential, especially in the first few weeks post-clearance from my orthopedic surgeon. In addition to my workouts, I've also been focusing on nutritious meals. This past week, I enjoyed grilled salmon and homemade spaghetti sauce, which nourished my body. Many recovering patients experience shifts in appetite, and it's essential to listen to your body's signals. From my experience, maintaining a balanced diet and opting for whole, delicious foods can significantly affect your journey. Cooking from scratch allows for better control over ingredients, ensuring meals are not only tasty but also healthful. Incorporating movement during recovery is crucial, but it’s equally vital to remember not to push too hard, taking small steps towards increased activity levels each day. Therefore, I plan to use my upcoming travel as a chance to enjoy family time and explore healthy eating options while away. Overall, balancing exercise, nutrition, and self-compassion is key on this weight loss journey.
