What Living With Epilepsy Really Feels Like 💜😭

5/21 Edited to

... Read moreLiving with epilepsy is often misunderstood by many, which leads to awkward interactions and stereotypes that people with epilepsy face daily. From my own experience, humor has become an essential tool to navigate these moments. It creates a bridge where direct conversations might be uncomfortable and helps lessen the tension for both sides. One fact many overlook is that epilepsy is not contagious and can affect anyone at any age. This aligns with the World Health Organization’s key messages that epilepsy is a common brain disease treatable with appropriate anti-seizure medicines. Yet, despite this knowledge, people with epilepsy often encounter insensitive comments or unsolicited stories, which can be frustrating and isolating. Awareness campaigns like Epilepsy Awareness Week play a crucial role in changing public perception. They invite people to look beyond the seizures themselves and understand the day-to-day realities—like dealing with misconceptions or managing the emotional toll using different coping mechanisms. For example, even simple questions about whether someone is having a seizure can be intimidating for those living with epilepsy. Another important aspect is education about seizures. Not all seizures involve dramatic convulsions; sometimes, they manifest as subtle spasms or nonverbal episodes, which can be misinterpreted by onlookers. Raising awareness helps by equipping the public with better understanding, reducing stigma and fostering empathy. If you know someone living with epilepsy, offering patient, informed support instead of sharing unrelated anecdotes can make a huge difference. Authentic recognition of their challenges helps them feel seen and valued rather than misunderstood. Ultimately, spreading epilepsy awareness is not just about sharing facts but about promoting a culture of respect and kindness. It empowers those with epilepsy to live confidently while encouraging society to embrace diversity in health experiences.

Why I Actually Love Living in a Smaller Home 🏠
It feels like everyone online is chasing the dream of a giant house - but for me, living in a smaller home has been so much better for my lifestyle, budget, and peace of mind. For context: our home isn’t tiny, but it’s not huge either. 3 beds, 2 baths, and around 1,244 sq ft. Just the right size

I actually just posted this on my wish list last week. My iPhone 14 Plus was starting to fail and I was in desperate need for a new phone. My husband got me this one on Monday and I absolutely love it! It did take some time to adjust to because there were some features that were different. The
