LAST DATE BEFORE LDR (again)

Heyyy yall 🎀🤍🍋

As most of u know, my boyfriend @davetly and I have been in a long distance relationship now for about 1.5 years so we made a little last date before LDR again tradition !!

Our aim is for me to see as much of Singapore as I can one more time before going back to Australia! Every last date we have done, it’s a must that we go to feather balde 🤩 this place means so much to us and it was a happy accidental tradition we made on the 3rd time I came back!!

This time after lunch we went to the ACM as I wanted to check out the new exhibit before I miss my opportunity to 😩 it was really fun to get to play all the games they had like chess and chongkat.

After the ACM we took the bum boat ride from Clarke quay which we used our SG culture pass on. It started raining halfway into our ride but the boat had windows which they closed so we didn’t get wet!! We also managed to enjoy the view from the viewing deck of the boat before it rained ☔️

Lastly we went to Orchard for Shi Li fang !! And walked around a bit before going home :(

... Read moreHaving been in a long-distance relationship myself, I completely relate to the bittersweet feeling of those last days together before parting ways. Planning meaningful dates that create lasting memories can be a comforting way to cope with the upcoming distance. Like the author shares, revisiting special places—such as Feather Blade, which holds sentimental value—can deepen the connection despite physical separation. In my experience, exploring cultural spots like the Asian Civilisations Museum (ACM) adds an enriching twist to these moments. Engaging in interactive exhibits and games, such as chess or local traditional games, offers fun and lighthearted distractions from the emotional weight of saying goodbye. Also, taking scenic rides, similar to the bum boat ride from Clarke Quay, provides a serene environment to reflect and enjoy each other’s company. I found that embracing unexpected weather, like rain during a boat trip, can even turn into memorable parts of the adventure. Being prepared with shelters or boats that close windows keeps the mood positive and cozy. Ending the day with a casual stroll in a favorite neighborhood and having comfort food together, as with the visit to Shi Li Fang in Orchard, is a comforting ritual. These shared experiences help maintain a sense of togetherness and can become a cherished tradition to look forward to before reunions. For those facing long-distance relationships, establishing your own “last date before LDR” tradition creates something special to hold onto during the times apart. It’s a beautiful way to celebrate love, create joyful memories, and remind yourselves that while the distance might be great, your connection remains strong.

LDR while having a baby
2025 was a great year for me, and because it was such a good year, I felt a little afraid stepping into 2026. I started the year pregnant. I still remember when I told my husband (he was sleeping), and he just said, “Thumbs up, man,” then drifted straight back into his lala land. I was puking th
