If u have a backup friend ur not a good person!!!

I feel like I’m always the backup friend, and it’s getting old. Like, on apps, my friends will be chatting up and posting about each other but I’m the one left out. When I suggest stuff, say, hitting up a museum, no one’s down, and sometimes I even get visibly judged for it (ditched that group, btw).

I’m always the one starting convercations or asking to hang. And when I do get a “yes” they’ll cancel last minute. It’s frustrating. I don’t know if I’m being too sensitive or if there’s a real pattern here.

In social spots, I’m quiet around new people but my close friends know I light up when talking about stuff I love. When a group’s eating and chatting, I stay quiet cause it’s comfy. But how do I show I’m listening without talking too much? That’s another thing I struggle with.

I’m just tired of being the backup. Anyone else deal with this? What am I doing wrong?
