* “We’ve gotten too comfortable avoiding hard conversations”
“Email is easy. Conversations are not.
But the things that matter most in life rarely come easy.
This week reminded me that courage doesn’t always look loud… sometimes it just looks like picking up the phone or saying the thing out loud.
We’ve all avoided it at some point…
but maybe it’s time we stop hiding behind ‘send.’ 💛
#SelfGrowth
In today’s digital age, it's become all too common to lean on email or text messages to address sensitive issues, simply because it feels easier and less confrontational. The image asking, "Be honest... have you ever sent an email instead of having the conversation?" resonates deeply with many of us. From personal experience, I’ve found that avoiding face-to-face or voice conversations might feel like a shortcut at first, but it often leads to misunderstandings and unresolved feelings. Choosing to pick up the phone or talk directly requires a form of quiet courage. It doesn't have to be a loud declaration but rather a thoughtful, honest approach. I've noticed that when I commit to these conversations, despite initial discomfort, relationships tend to deepen and issues get resolved more authentically. Of course, this is not about forcing conversations unnecessarily but recognizing when important matters deserve more than an email reply. Developing communication skills such as active listening, empathy, and openness makes these encounters less daunting. Taking this step can significantly contribute to self-growth, as it builds confidence and emotional intelligence. Ultimately, stopping the habit of hiding behind 'send' invites more meaningful connections and leads to healthier communication patterns in both personal and professional settings.
