🍼 ✨building a freezer stash ✨🍼
As an exclusively breastfeeding mom with an oversupply I’ve always hated pumping. I wanted to start a stash for my baby without increasing my supply. I never knew where to start, so here’s some tips for you breastfeeding moms.
Step 1:
Find a passive milk collector that works for you ! there’s many different options . There are ones that double as a manual pump and there are options that just sit and collect with no suction . If you are looking to increase supply go with the pump style . Both are great to have on hand.
Step 2: Passively collect milk overnight for bath & skin care. Small inserts like the Elvie catch are comfortable and they collect milk while you are sleeping . Use that milk to make lotion , skin creams or use for bath time.
Step 3: Parallel pumping once a day :
Pump for 5-15 minutes on the opposite side while nursing your baby . This is most effective during the first feed of the day . Milk production is highest in the morning . Especially between 3-5am
