Oops, I messed up a page in my journal 🥹

I’m slowing down a little more these days, and spending more time to reflect on the my journaling process. Reflecting helps me become more mindful of why I even started journaling in the first place, and also makes the process a whole lot more fun and meaningful!! ☺️

... Read moreJournaling is often seen as a private, personal practice where every page is expected to be perfect. But as I recently experienced, mistakes in a journal don't have to be setbacks—they can be gateways to creativity and mindfulness. For instance, I once wrote an entire journal entry under the wrong date because I was exhausted. Initially, I considered ignoring the error, but then decided to address it playfully. Instead of erasing the mistake or stressing over it, I carefully cut out the misplaced section and taped over it with a clean label, like the MUJI logo, turning it into a unique design element in my journal. I then relocated the entry to the correct date's section. This simple act of 'paper drama' reminded me that mistakes aren't just nuisances; they're opportunities to pause, reflect, and trust my inner child to adapt and play along. This experience deepened my mindfulness practice by encouraging me to slow down and appreciate the process rather than just the outcome. It taught me that journaling is not about perfection but about growth, self-compassion, and creativity. By embracing imperfection, my journal became a more authentic space that mirrors life's unpredictability. If you’re starting to journal or feel stuck because of mistakes, try this playful approach. Allow yourself to improvise and transform errors into new designs or reflections. This can help reduce anxiety around journaling and make the practice more enjoyable and meaningful. Remember, each page, even those with 'mistakes', tells a story and contributes to your journey of self-discovery and mindfulness.

Transform big emotions into soft pages ✨
I love using this particular art journaling method because the act of mark-making and tearing paper up helps with regulation. And when you feel less overpowered by emotions, you will be in a better headspace to reframe and make sense of why you were feeling what you were feeling 🥹✨ #JournalWith

You should start journaling in 2026 📖
As the new year approaches, I am trying to hold myself more accountable with managing my life. Whether it’s my personal or work life, I’ve decided that I should be more aware of what I’m feeling or experienced in my daily life instead of just going through the motions and trying to get by each day.
