I cannot imagine the price that would be attached to the deeds of my past, my present, and even my future! Iām glad it was paid! And as a good steward, my efforts will be not to create future debts that must be accounted for. My obedience is a thank you and my discipline is an expression of gratitude.

Contemplating the immense price Jesus paid for our redemption has been a deeply personal journey for me. Often, I find myself overwhelmed by the thought that despite my flaws and mistakesāpast, present, and even futureāthere was a payment made on my behalf. Ogletree III, Jesus' body and death served as a bride price, a powerful metaphor illustrating the value and depth of His sacrifice for us. Living with this perspective motivates me to act as a good steward of my life daily. It's a continual challenge to avoid accruing 'debts' that require repaying in my spiritual walk. My obedience isn't about fear but a thankful response to what has been done. Discipline becomes a form of gratitude, showing my appreciation for the freedom and new life purchased so dearly. For anyone wrestling with feelings of unworthiness or guilt, understanding that Jesus paid the full priceāthat no debt remains unpaidācan bring immense peace. It reminds us that salvation is a gift, not a transaction to earn. This gift calls for a response: a life of commitment to live responsibly, honoring the sacrifice made. In my church community, such as First Met Church, sharing these insights has inspired others to embrace their faith more fully. We find community strength in supporting each other to live disciplined and obedient lives, aligned with the gratitude that fills our hearts. Ultimately, recognizing the price paid encourages us to build a promising future, free from spiritual debts, empowered by grace and thankfulness.
