I’ve been journaling since I was about 10
And let me tell you something quietly radical:
I have skipped days.
Weeks.
Entire seasons.
And I am still a consistent journaler.
Because consistency was never about streaks.
Somewhere along the way, we turned journaling into a productivity habit instead of a relationship.
You don’t ghost a friend because you missed a week.
You just text them again.
Your journal is the same.
The people who tell me they “can’t stay consistent” usually mean:
• They missed a few days
• They didn’t write enough
• It didn’t feel deep
• They didn’t do it like the aesthetic morning routine girl on the internet
That’s not inconsistency.
That’s perfectionism wearing a self-improvement costume.
What if consistency meant:
Returning.
Even when it’s messy.
Even when it’s short.
Even when you don’t feel profound.
If this is the shift you needed today, stay here.
I teach journaling in a way that fits real life — not ideal life.
And if you’re curious what consistency could look like for you, start here:
What rhythm would feel sustainable instead of impressive?
Tell me below — what’s the smallest version of journaling you’d actually return to?
