You ever sit down to journal and…
suddenly your brain is like:
“ok but what if we just… stare at the page instead??”
Cool. Love that for us.
Because now you’re stuck in the world’s least helpful debate:
should I be doing Morning Pages like a real writer
or using guided prompts like a person who has their life together
Meanwhile you’re doing neither.
Just… aggressively thinking.
Here’s the deal:
Morning Pages are for when your brain sounds like 47 tabs open and one of them is playing music but you can’t find it.
Guided prompts are for when your brain is a blank void and you’re like
hello??? thoughts??? anyone home???
Both are valid.
Both are useful.
Both count.
This is not a personality test.
You’re allowed to be chaotic and reflective.
So instead of asking
“what’s the right way to journal?”
Try asking:
“what do I need today?”
(yes, I know. annoying. still true.)
If you tend to overthink journaling instead of actually doing it…
comment OVERTHINK
and I’ll send you something that helps 🌀
