The best journaling method (no one says this)
Here’s where most people get stuck…
They don’t actually want a technique.
They want certainty.
They want to know:
“If I do this the right way… will it finally work?”
So they keep searching.
New prompts. New systems. New notebooks.
Waiting for the one that clicks.
But journaling doesn’t work like that.
Because the resistance you feel when you sit down to write?
It doesn’t go away when you find the “perfect” method.
It just changes shape.
One day it looks like overthinking.
Another day it looks like boredom.
Another day it looks like “I don’t have anything to say.”
That’s why consistency doesn’t come from finding the best technique.
It comes from lowering the bar enough that you actually show up.
Not inspired.
Not ready.
Just willing.
Some days that might be one sentence.
Some days it might be a full page.
Some days it might be nothing but a question you don’t have the answer to yet.
And that still counts.
The people who stick with journaling aren’t the most disciplined.
They’re the ones who stopped trying to do it right.
They just keep coming back.
So if you’ve been waiting to “figure it out” before you begin…
this is your sign to start before you feel ready.
Messy counts.
Short counts.
Inconsistent counts.
Showing up is the technique.
