They clean and moisturize the skin without harsh chemicals and are convenient when water is scarce or unavailable. I recommend keeping a few packs in your emergency kit—they’re compact and last a long time. For acne-prone or oily skin, products containing salicylic acid, like Clear! Clear essentials toner, can help clear pores and keep skin fresh. Using a gentle exfoliating toner with ingredients like glycolic acid, such as St. Ives AHA exfoliating toner, also helps remove dead skin cells, preventing skin irritation during times when regular showers or baths might be impossible. Additionally, consider having small bottles of these skincare essentials pre-packed for emergencies. Maintaining a basic hygiene routine—even if simplified—helps improve morale and promotes skin health through difficult times without power. Remember, staying fresh is not just about comfort but also about preventing skin issues that can arise when regular hygiene is disrupted during ice storms or other power outages.
