What I Eat in A Day :: Working Out of Town

**This was a really big day for me, so I normally I’d exclude one of these; but I had to get some extra calories and protein in. These are great examples of how to do that (say it’s a “lift day”) in a way that is NOT a junk-food surplus. Instead it’s filled with micronutrients, distributing the protein across the day, and great fiber. ** (and this app wouldn’t let me upload more pics, so you don’t see the vitamins!

Anyway! What I Eat in a Day — Working on the Road Edition

When I’m driving between Clients all day, it’s easy to grab whatever is convenient. But over the years I’ve learned that if I want stable energy, a clear mind, and a body that can keep up with my work, I have to plan ahead.

Today was one of those days where I actually nailed it.

Instead of chasing sugar highs or caffeine crashes, I focused on a few simple priorities:

• Protein throughout the day to support muscle and recovery

• Hydration and electrolytes to keep my brain sharp

• Whole-food ingredients that travel well and don’t slow me down

The result? Roughly 150g of protein, plenty of fiber, steady carbs, and over 100oz of fluids — all while moving between appointments.

A few staples that make “road days” work for me:

• Lemon matcha to start the morning (and my gut)

• My mushroom coffee for sustained focus

• A quick superfoods smoothie

• My homemade yogurt mix with chia + protein

• Tuna salad and chickpea pasta for real meals

• Plenty of water and electrolytes

Nothing fancy. Just food that works with my body instead of against it.

When your day is packed, the goal isn’t perfection — it’s fueling your body so you can show up fully for the work you care about.

Today’s takeaway: with a little intention, even a long day on the road can still support your health, strength, and focus.

Preparation is key—planning meals in advance prevents reliance on convenience foods that might cause sugar crashes or energy dips. Emphasizing whole foods instead of processed snacks ensures my body receives the nourishment required for recovery, especially on lift days when calorie and protein demands increase. Through experience, I’ve learned that the goal is to fuel the body adequately rather than chasing perfection. Even with a hectic schedule and frequent travel between clients, intentional nutrition choices support strength, focus, and overall wellness. This approach doesn’t require fancy recipes, just mindful eating that respects your body’s needs during long, busy days on the road.
