Surgical intervention is the most definitive way to diagnose and treat endometriomas, but non-surgical tests like imaging are valuable first steps. From a personal perspective, the process can be emotionally challenging. Finding out you have an endometrioma means dealing with a chronic condition that can affect quality of life. Still, with proper treatment plans—ranging from hormonal therapies to surgery—many manage their symptoms successfully. If you or someone you know suspects they might have an endometrioma, it's important to advocate for thorough testing, including ultrasound and MRI scans.
