Being a mother residing in Indiana has influenced my perspective on raising awareness for important causes such as epilepsy. I have found that combining my academic background with real-life roles empowers me to contribute meaningfully to conversations about health and justice within our community. Navigating motherhood while advocating for epilepsy awareness is a daily journey filled with learning and growth. It is rewarding to connect with others who share similar experiences and to educate those who may not fully understand the challenges faced by individuals with epilepsy. Utilizing social media and local support networks has been essential for spreading accurate information and promoting empathy. My education at BSU did not just equip me with theoretical knowledge but also instilled a strong sense of social responsibility. This has motivated me to participate in community events and collaborate with local organizations aiming to improve the lives of people affected by neurological conditions. By sharing my story and academic insights, I hope to inspire others—especially fellow moms and students—to become advocates for health and justice causes in their own communities. In sum, my journey highlights the power of combining personal experience with educational background to make a positive impact. Whether through parenting, raising awareness, or engaging in community services, every effort counts towards building a more informed and supportive society.
