Our NICU story…

No matter how long or how short your baby was in the NICU, you are STRONG! Walking out of those doors without your baby is THE HARDEST THING!

It isn’t easy seeing your baby hooked up to all of the monitors…or having to ask to hold your own baby…not being able to be there when they cry and praying one of the nurses are snuggling her when she’s scared!

Sleepless nights in the parking lot, because going home just didn’t feel right… Crying, aching, feeling hopeless and scared… YOU ARE STRONG!!!! For all of my NICU mommas going through it, you are FOREVER in my prayers and you will take your baby home soon! 🩷

... Read moreNavigating the NICU journey is a profound experience that tests the strength and resilience of every parent. For NICU moms, every day is a step forward filled with both worries and hope. It's incredibly common to feel overwhelmed when your baby is surrounded by monitors and medical equipment, making it hard to believe they are still just your little one. One of the most touching moments shared by parents is the small milestones that bring immense joy. For instance, babies who were once quiet due to illness start showing personality through simple acts like sticking out their tongues or smiling. These tiny gestures become treasured reminders of growth and progress. Emotional support is vital during this time. Many parents find solace in connecting with other NICU families, sharing stories, fears, and victories. Online communities and support groups provide a platform to express feelings often difficult to describe in person. The hashtags #nicubaby, #CleftStrong, and #BabyGirl are not just tags; they symbolize solidarity among families facing similar battles. Self-care also matters. While it’s natural to want to be by your baby’s side constantly, parents must recognize their own needs too. Sleepless nights in parking lots or endless hospital visits can drain one's physical and emotional energy. Finding moments to recharge can ultimately help parents stay strong for their little ones. Finally, remember that every journey through the NICU is unique. Whether your baby’s stay is short or long, acknowledging your strength and progress is essential. Celebrate the small wins, lean on support networks, and trust that brighter days are ahead. With patience and hope, the day you carry your baby home will be an unforgettable triumph.

She’s beautiful. My son was only in the NICU for a few hours after he choked on formula. I was able to sit with him for an hour (I was not even 12 hours post partum and post C section). The nurse who cared for him and reassured me was wonderful.
