Toxic family dynamics

Imagine your family is like a playground. A playground should be fun, safe, and a place where everyone feels happy. But in your family’s playground, there are some kids who don’t play nice.

Some kids take your toys and never give them back. Some tell you that your feelings don’t matter when you’re sad. Some make up rules that only help them, and if you say, “That’s not fair!” they get mad at you instead of fixing the rules.

Now, because you’re a kind and caring kid, you kept trying to play with them, hoping they’d be nicer. But every time you do, they push you off the swing or take your turn on the slide.

So, you decided, "I don’t have to play here anymore." You walked away from the playground and found other places where kids treat you kindly, listen to you, and play fair.

It’s not easy leaving that playground because you grew up there. But now, you’re learning that you deserve a fun, safe, and happy place to play—with people who respect you.

Does that make sense?
