One key thing I found helpful is cultivating a consistent sleep routine—even on weekends. Going to bed and waking up at the same times reinforces your body's internal clock, making it easier to fall asleep naturally. Another factor to consider is your exposure to blue light before bedtime. Even if you put your phone across the room or activate sleep mode, screens still emit blue light that tricks your brain into staying alert. Using blue light filters in the evening or reading a physical book instead can help your brain wind down. I also experimented with creating a relaxing pre-sleep ritual. For me, listening to calming music or gentle white noise helped signal my brain it’s time to rest. Staying away from stimulating activities like watching TV or intense conversations close to bedtime made a big difference. Importantly, managing stress during the day impacts how well you sleep. Mindfulness practices such as meditation or journaling before bed helped me clear my mind and prepare for restful sleep. Lastly, making your bedroom comfortable with cool temperature, minimal light, and quiet surroundings further supports good sleep hygiene. Though it takes patience to form new habits, these steps helped me gradually shift my sleep pattern and genuinely improved my sleep quality. You might want to try combining several of these tips to see what works best for you. Remember, better sleep not only affects your energy levels but also improves memory, mood, and overall wellbeing.

Sleep meditations have helped me so much! I used to spend so long trying to fall asleep. Now, if I’m having trouble I use a guided audio meditation. I have the Peloton app, but I’m sure there are options elsewhere.
