My fiddle leaf fig got brown spots 🌿🍂😩

Based on my experience with fiddle leaf figs, brown spots and leaf drop commonly occur due to environmental stressors, especially cold drafts and improper lighting. Initially, my plant showed dark brown spots only on the lower leaves, coupled with crispy edges. Despite changing water and fertilizer routines, the problem persisted until I examined its placement more critically. I had placed my fiddle leaf fig right beside the front door where it was exposed to cold blasts every time the door opened. Fiddle leaf figs are highly sensitive to cold drafts and sudden temperature fluctuations, far more than many other houseplants. Moving the plant about 2 meters away from the door and away from a nearby radiator made a significant difference—my plant stopped dropping leaves immediately. If your fiddle leaf fig develops brown spots, check its environment first: ensure it’s in bright, indirect light, and avoid direct sun that can scorch leaves. Also, avoid locations near drafty doors, air conditioners, or heaters. Good air circulation and adequate space around the plant help prevent stress-related issues. Regular monitoring of your fiddle leaf fig's location and conditions, coupled with consistent watering habits and balanced feeding, can maintain its health. Remember, these plants don’t like sudden changes, so adjusting conditions gradually is key. Sometimes, minor placement changes can save your plant without needing complicated care adjustments.
