Before you start looking for a job, try to set a career goal.
Many people start looking for work by opening the web and signing up for "enough" positions, but in the 2026 job market, finding a job without Career Goals can be a waste of time, but it doesn't work because we may not know what kind of job is right for ourselves, what kind of Skill needs to be developed, or what kind of opportunity should be chosen first.
Good Career Goals is not just about achieving broad goals such as "wanting to succeed" or "wanting a good salary," but understanding where we are now, where we want to grow, and what we need to do in the next six to 12 months.
A simple way to start is to plan to have Structure:
• Audit yourself what Skill, Experience and Value we already have.
• Set Goal and Timeline clearly, for example, which three months do you want to apply for?
• Select Skill that needs to be developed weekly.
• Track Progress, which job has been applied, what feedback has been obtained?
• Review monthly if the target is still straight or the Approach must be adjusted
What many people miss is thinking that Career Goals is a one-time, one-and-then-over location, but it's actually a process that needs to adjust according to its own Feedback, job market, and situation. If not, Track, No Review, or apply for a final Direction-free job can be very tiring but rarely see results.
Mistake to avoid:
• Aim for Generic too
• Apply for a job without Direction
• No. Track what do
• Doing too much until Burnout
• Do not ask for Feedback from experienced people
A good Career Goals is not to follow Template or follow what is Viral, but to understand their own Context, and Execute consistently starts with a few hours a week, but to start on the right track, because people who know where they are going often spend more time and energy than those who just "apply first."

จากประสบการณ์ส่วนตัวตอนที่เริ่มหางานครั้งแรก ผมเคยสมัครงานแบบลวกๆ ไม่มีเป้าหมายชัดเจน เหมือนแค่ส่งใบสมัครไปเรื่อยๆ โดยไม่ได้วางแผนหรือคิดลึกว่าอยากทำงานในสายไหน กว่าเดือนสองเดือนก็เริ่มรู้สึกเหนื่อยและท้อ เพราะไม่ได้รับการตอบรับที่ดี และบางตำแหน่งก็ไม่ตรงกับความสนใจจริงๆ หลังจากนั้น ผมเริ่มเปลี่ยนวิธีโดยเริ่มจากการ Audit ตัวเองก่อน สำรวจว่ามีทักษะอะไรที่แข็งแรง จุดอ่อนมีอะไร และสิ่งที่ผมอยากได้จากงาน เช่น ความยืดหยุ่น, บรรยากาศในที่ทำงาน หรือโอกาสพัฒนาตัวเอง จากนั้นกำหนด Timeline ว่าภายใน 3-6 เดือนข้างหน้านี้ ผมจะสมัครงานในสายที่กำหนดและพัฒนาทักษะใด สิ่งที่ช่วยมากคือ ผมทำ Skill Tracker รายสัปดาห์ โดยแบ่งเวลาเล็กๆ เพื่อเรียนรู้หรือฝึกทักษะใหม่ รวมถึงจดบันทึกการสมัครงานและ Feedback ที่ได้รับ ซึ่งทำให้รู้ว่าแนวทางไหนได้ผลและควรปรับตรงไหนบ้าง ที่สำคัญคือการ Review เป้าหมายทุกเดือน ปรับแผนตามสถานการณ์ตลาดงานและความรู้สึกของตัวเอง เช่น ถ้าพบว่าทักษะที่เลือกพัฒนายังไม่ตอบโจทย์ ก็หาโอกาสฝึกทักษะอื่นที่เหมาะสมกว่าแทน การตั้ง Career Goals แบบมี Structure ช่วยให้ผมไม่ต้อง สมัครงานไปแบบไม่มีจุดหมาย หรือทำงานที่ไม่ตรงกับสิ่งที่อยากทำจริงๆ แม้จะเริ่มจากเพียงไม่กี่ชั่วโมงต่อสัปดาห์ แต่ความต่อเนื่องและการติดตามผลอย่างจริงจัง ทำให้ก้าวหน้าไม่หยุด และรู้สึกว่าการหางานไม่ใช่แค่การแข่งขัน แต่เป็นการพัฒนาตัวเองอย่างมีทิศทาง สุดท้าย ผมใช้เครื่องมือช่วยอย่าง Plants.work ในการเช็ก Skill และหาตำแหน่งที่เหมาะกับเป้าหมายจริงๆ ทำให้ประหยัดเวลาและไม่เสียแรงเปล่า ใครที่กำลังเริ่มต้นหรือหางานใหม่ ลองให้ความสำคัญกับการตั้งเป้าหมายและติดตามผลดูครับ รับรองว่าการหางานจะมีประสิทธิภาพขึ้นมากและไม่เหนื่อยเกินไปจนหมดไฟเร็วเกินไป
