Taco Tuesday is a weekly holiday in this house 🌮
I build mine the same way every single time. There is a method, there is a reason, and yes, the black olives are non-negotiable. 😋 Also, @Old El Paso Stand N’ Stuff shells, always 🙌🏼
I’m so curious .. tell me how you build yours in the comments…maybe I’ll try your version next week! 👀
Taco Tuesday has become a cherished tradition in many households, offering a delicious way to gather and enjoy a creative meal together. In my experience, the key to building the perfect taco starts with choosing the right shell. I always go for Old El Paso Stand N’ Stuff shells—they provide the perfect crispy yet sturdy base that holds all the delicious fillings without falling apart. Layering ingredients thoughtfully is also crucial. I start with a warm protein, whether turkey or beef, making sure it's cooked with flavorful spices to add depth. Then, I add finely chopped onion right on top so it softens slightly from the heat but still retains a fresh crunch. Cheese comes next; shredded cheese melts beautifully and adds creaminess that balances the spices. Black olives are my non-negotiable ingredient—they contribute a subtle saltiness and unique flavor that complements the other toppings perfectly. For some zest, I drizzle a bit of sour cream or a tangy yogurt-based sauce, but I personally skip anything too vinegary or pickled, as I prefer my taco to have a balanced bite without overpowering acidity. I've found that adding iceberg lettuce shredded finely adds a satisfying crisp texture, but I avoid overdoing it to maintain the taco’s tidiness. Pickled jalapeños are a great option if you love heat and tang, but they are optional depending on your taste. One tip I’ve learned is that layering the ingredients so each bite is flavourful and not overloaded makes eating much more enjoyable. Every component has its place, and by building tacos in this intentional way, you get consistent and delightful results every time. If you have your own taco-building method or unique ingredients you swear by, I’m excited to hear about them! Experimenting with different combinations is part of the joy of Taco Tuesday. Let’s keep sharing and perfecting our taco craft!
