I just got out of a Spirit-filled counseling session with a client — and through her, Holy Spirit revealed an innocent but subtly dangerous habit that a lot of Christians who are in bondage have.

They think that FULL deliverance has to happen all at once — and oftentimes this is possible.

But it’s not the reality for many because God does some of his best work in layers — delivering us piece by piece and little by little from the issues of our hearts and the strongholds on our minds. Because if he ripped everything out of us all at once, we wouldn’t be able to steward our freedom.

That’s what I was explaining to my client.

Her heart was in the right place but she was trying to get ahead of God who wants to begin a new work in her but at HIS OWN PACE — not hers.

He’s not just working to set her free, he wants to teach her how to STAY that way.

He’s not just trying to deliver her, he’s trying to develop her.

Just as he’s doing for many of you all who are desperate for deliverance but underdeveloped to maintain it.

God wants to renew your mind.

God wants to build your discipline.

God wants to educate you on his Word.

God wants to sharpen your discernment.

Because true deliverance is not just God taking something out of you in a moment, but God rebuilding you into someone who no longer returns to what He delivered you from, as “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus” — Philippians 1:6.

... Read moreFrom my own journey of faith and deliverance, I've come to realize that expecting instant miracles can sometimes lead to frustration and disappointment. Like many, I once thought deliverance was a one-time event, a sudden break from bondage. However, as this article highlights, deliverance is truly a process, a gradual unfolding of God's transformative work within us. One of the most powerful lessons I've learned is the importance of embracing God's timing rather than rushing ahead with my own expectations. When I tried to force change too quickly, I found myself vulnerable to relapse because I hadn't developed the necessary tools to sustain my freedom. Over time, I saw that God’s work in layers meant He was renewing my mind, helping me build spiritual discipline, and teaching me to discern His voice amidst life’s challenges. The phrase from the article, “Deliverance is a process, not a destination,” deeply resonates with me. It's a reminder that true freedom involves continuous growth and development. God's goal isn't just to free us momentarily but to rebuild us into stronger, wiser individuals who no longer return to old patterns of bondage. In my experience, reading and meditating on scripture such as Philippians 1:6 has been vital. Knowing that God will carry His work in us “to completion” offers great hope during times when progress feels slow. This biblical assurance helped me remain patient and committed, understanding that setbacks did not mean failure but were part of the refining process. If you’re on a path seeking deliverance, remember to be kind to yourself. Allow God to work at His own pace. Invest time in renewing your mind through prayer and scripture, cultivating discipline in your daily habits, and sharpening your spiritual discernment. These practices build a foundation that supports lasting freedom and transformation. Ultimately, deliverance is less about a single moment of liberation and more about a lifelong journey of growth under God’s guidance. When we allow Him to lead consistently—little by little—we experience not only freedom but also the development needed to walk confidently in that freedom every day.

i got tattoos right as i turned 18✨
which, probably was not the smartest idea. i had hills and hills of ideas that i wanted done, but really no thought to them besides the fact that i “wanted” them so badly. this of course, leads to the conclusion that i do have tattoos that i regret; although not many, still some. - “euphoria” |
