January felt like a breath of fresh air for music enthusiasts like myself. After a quieter 2025, these albums brought energy and soulful vibes back into my playlist. I’ve found myself completely hooked on A$AP Rocky's latest album, which feels both expertly crafted and refreshingly original. His track “Don’t Be Dumb” especially sticks in my head thanks to its clever lyrics and upbeat rhythm. Ari Lennox’s "Vacancy" album offered grown-folks soul with steady grooves that had me bobbing my head all month long. Her authentic voice connects deeply, making every song feel personal. On the other hand, Kashus Culpepper’s "Act I" introduced a soulful, raw vocal style that resonated with me on an emotional level — music that feels honest and real is always the most powerful. Not to be missed was the "Sinners" original soundtrack by Ryan Coogler, which kept surprising me with its variety and fresh beats. Also, Jennifer Lopez’s "JLO" 25th Anniversary remaster brought a wave of nostalgia mixed with modern polish, reminding me why it was one of the first albums I ever owned. And lastly, BigXthaPlug and Tyler the Creator continue to impress. BigX’s "Take Care" album is a creative masterpiece, and Tyler’s "Chromakopia" still stands out for its unique style and standout tracks like "NOID" and "Like Him."
