On the night of October 21, watching the Oryonids meteor shower from the Halley comet's dust stream had a maximum drop rate of 20 stars per hour, and this year there was no moonlight all night!
The Orionids can be seen from October 2 to November 7 each year, as the Earth orbits through the dust left by Comet Halley during its closest orbit to the Sun in 1986, causing the object to be attracted by Earth gravity to burn down in the Earth's atmosphere into a beautiful meteor shower.
For this year, the Orionids meteor shower had its highest drop on the night of October 21, with a view starting around 23: 00 in the eastern sky, with a distribution center near Orion, and visible until early morning, with no moonlight disturbing all night.
Observing meteor showers, find areas where the sky is dark, there are no lights disturbing, or there are lines of buildings obscuring the vision. You should adjust your eyes to the darkness and wait to see the beauty of this phenomenon.
Besides the Orionids meteor shower, it is also the night when comet C / 2025 A6 (Lemmon) gets closest to Earth. There may be a chance to see it with the naked eye at dusk.
