A man who was nearby saw a car heading for a road flooded by heavy rain,
"You can't go there."
I cried desperately.
However, the voice did not reach and the car went to the flooded road.
Eventually the car got stuck and was submerged in water to the roof.
The man swam over his head to the car, smashed the window and rescued the two inside.
But the woman was in a state of cardiopulmonary arrest.
The scary thing about a flooded road is that you can't tell the depth just by looking at it.
"I think I can go this far."
Even if it looks like it, don't force yourself to drive in.
If the car starts sinking, escape while the window opens.
If the window does not open, try to escape from the side glass with an escape hammer.

冠水した道路に進入する危険性は、多くのドライバーが直感的に理解していても、いざ大雨や冠水時には「これくらいなら大丈夫」と判断を甘くしてしまいがちです。私自身も以前、冠水危険地域を車で通過しようとして途中で車が動かなくな り、冷や汗をかいた経験があります。 今回の千葉県の事故にあるように、道路の冠水は水の深さを外見から正確に判断できないのが非常に厄介です。冠水の深さが車のタイヤを超え、エンジンや電子機器に水が浸入すると、即座に動かなくなります。そうなると水圧でドアが開けにくくなったり窓も開かなくなったりすることもあり、車内に閉じ込められるリスクが高まります。 このため、「冠水した道路には絶対に入らない」ことが最も大事な安全策です。また、もしも冠水路を走行中に車が水没し始めた場合、窓が開くうちにすぐ脱出を試みるべきです。窓が開かない場合には、脱出用ハンマーを使用してサイドガラスを割って脱出する方法が推奨されていますが、フロントガラスや一部のサイドガラスは割れにくい特殊ガラスなので、適切な場所を見極める知識も重要です。 私は普段から車に小型の脱出用ハンマーを常備し、大雨の時は冠水道路の標識をしっかり確認しながら運転しています。大雨の日の運転では、「少しでも怪しい」と感じたら無理をせず、安全な場所で待機する勇気も必要です。 今回の事故の教訓を生かし、皆さんもぜひ冠水道路の危険性を再認識し、大雨警報が出ている際には冠水した場所には絶対に車で入らないことを心掛けてください。安全な行動が大切な命を守ります。
