Things to do when your awake✨🫶 at nightt!

2/11 Edited to

... Read moreWhen those sleepless hours creep in, instead of just staring at the ceiling, I’ve found some amazing ways to actually make the most of the quiet. One of my absolute favorites is diving into creating the perfect Pinterest music playlist. It’s not just about finding songs; it’s about curating a whole mood board for my ears! I usually start by thinking about what kind of vibe I need – is it calming instrumental, upbeat lo-fi to get some planning done, or maybe something nostalgic? I'll search Pinterest for 'aesthetic music playlists,' 'study music,' or even 'late night chill vibes' to get inspiration for artists or specific song titles. Once I find a few, I'll head over to YouTube or Spotify to build out the full playlist. It's surprisingly meditative, and by the end, I often feel a sense of accomplishment, even if I haven't slept a wink. Beyond the music, I've learned that having a few gentle activities ready can turn a frustrating night into a productive one. For instance, I sometimes use the quiet time to do a quick workout, nothing too intense, maybe some gentle stretching or a short yoga flow I found on YouTube. It helps to release some pent-up energy without fully waking myself up. Another great tip I picked up is planning for the next day. I'll grab my planner and jot down my to-do list, making the morning feel much less chaotic. Or, if I’m feeling overwhelmed by digital clutter, I might go through my phone and start deleting photos I no longer need – it’s a small task but feels good to get done. Sometimes, simply making my bed, even if I’m just going to get back into it, creates a sense of order. It's a small win. Then I might settle in to watch Netflix or YouTube. I keep a list of documentaries or calming shows I’ve been meaning to watch, so I don't waste time scrolling. The key for me is to avoid anything too stimulating or stressful. It's all about embracing the quiet and finding small, satisfying tasks that make the night feel less wasted. These little routines, especially building those thematic music playlists on Pinterest, have truly transformed my 'awake at night' experiences from dread to a unique kind of me-time.

Why is my brain so loud at night?
I always struggle with falling asleep. Magnesium and no screen time helps a lot, but sometimes that random thoughts can’t let me sleep. It’s normally thoughts I don’t have while I’m awake, during my day, when I can think about it. They come during night time, when I lay my head on my pillow.
