First time using the iPhone, this is what it looks

It is better to use an android sometimes, but I do miss android a little bit lol

2024/2/4 Edited to

... Read moreSo, I finally took the plunge! After years of being a loyal Android user, I decided it was time for a change and got my very first iPhone. It’s truly been an interesting journey as a first time using a iPhone, and I wanted to share my unfiltered thoughts on the switch. Initially, I’ll admit, there were moments I thought, 'Ugh, I miss my Android!' The sheer freedom and customization options I had on my previous phone were unparalleled. I could tweak almost anything, place widgets wherever I wanted, and even sideload apps without much fuss. The iPhone felt a bit more restrictive at first, almost like moving into a beautifully designed but slightly smaller house. However, as I spent more time with it, the elegance of the iPhone user experience started to shine through. One of the biggest eye-openers has been the sheer consistency and polish of iOS. Everything just *works*. Apps launch smoothly, animations are fluid, and there’s a certain level of integration across Apple’s ecosystem that’s hard to replicate elsewhere. AirDrop, for instance, became an instant favorite for quickly sharing photos and files with friends who also have iPhones. And let’s not even get started on Face ID – unlocking my phone and making payments has never been so seamless! For a first time using a iPhone from an Android background, I quickly sought out ways to make the new device feel more 'mine' and efficient. That’s where discovering some of the hidden shortcuts and features really made a difference. I've been diving deep into the 'Shortcuts' app, and it's surprisingly powerful. You can automate so many daily tasks, from setting up specific routines when you arrive home to creating custom quick actions. It feels a bit like magic once you get the hang of it, and it significantly enhances the overall iPhone user experience beyond what I initially expected. Another cool trick I stumbled upon is 'Back Tap.' This lets you double or triple tap the back of your iPhone to perform actions like taking a screenshot, opening an app, or even launching a custom shortcut. It’s one of those small features that, once you start using it, you can’t imagine living without. I’ve also appreciated the focus on privacy and security. Knowing that my data is handled with such care gives me a lot of peace of mind. While I still occasionally find myself instinctively trying Android gestures or missing some specific functionalities from my old phone, the iPhone has definitely carved out its own space in my tech life. It’s a different philosophy, focused more on simplicity and integration, and for a first time using a iPhone, it’s been an exciting learning curve. If you’re thinking of making the switch, prepare for a transition, but also prepare to be impressed by its reliability and thoughtful design. It truly offers a unique iPhone user experience.
