Why your concealer is cakey!!!👀

I hate when I do my makeup and my concealer ends up cakey! That’s happened to me numerous times and when it does I always end up doing this to getting a flawless under eye! Doing these steps will help your concealer look crease less and hydrated.🙌🏻

Why it could be cakey:

- no eyecream/ hydration

- not using a beauty blender

- not using a hydrating powder

Let me know if you try any of these tips!!👀

... Read moreOkay, let's be real, who hasn't been there? You're doing your makeup, feeling great, and then BAM – your under-eye concealer looks like a dry, creased mess. It's so frustrating when you want that smooth, bright look, but instead, you get cakey patches that highlight every fine line. I've definitely had my fair share of those moments, and it took some trial and error to figure out what truly makes a difference. The good news is, achieving a flawless, crease-free under-eye isn't rocket science! It mostly comes down to a few key steps that ensure your skin is prepped and your product is applied correctly. First things first, hydration is absolutely non-negotiable. Think of your under-eye area like a sponge. If it's dry, it’s going to soak up your concealer and make it look patchy and cakey almost instantly. This is where a good eye cream comes in. Before you even think about putting on makeup, gently pat a small amount of hydrating eye cream around your under-eye area. Give it a minute or two to really sink in. This creates a smooth, plump canvas, making it much harder for your concealer to settle into lines or look dry. I always make sure my dry under-eyes are properly moisturized, and it’s a game-changer! Next up, your application tool makes a huge difference. While fingers can work in a pinch for some products, for *concealer*, especially under the eyes, nothing beats a damp *beauty blender*. Seriously, ditch your brushes for this one if you're battling cakeiness! A damp beauty blender helps to press the product into the skin seamlessly rather than just smearing it around. The dampness also prevents it from absorbing too much product and helps achieve lighter coverage that still offers great concealment without feeling heavy. The key is to *pat*, not drag, the concealer gently onto your skin. This technique helps to blend out any harsh lines and gives you that airbrushed finish. Finally, setting your concealer properly is crucial, but don't overdo it! Many people make the mistake of caking on a heavy powder, which can instantly make your under-eye look dry and chalky, completely undoing all your hard work. Instead, opt for a finely milled, hydrating setting powder or a *translucent setting powder*. You want just enough to set the product in place and prevent creasing, not to mattify it completely. I use a small, fluffy brush to pick up a tiny amount of powder, tap off the excess, and then gently press it onto the areas where I tend to crease the most. This light touch is essential for keeping that fresh, hydrated look. Beyond these three core steps, here are a few extra tips I've picked up along the way: Less is truly more: Start with a small amount of *concealer*. You can always build up coverage if needed, but it's much harder to fix too much product. Choose the right formula: Look for creamy, hydrating concealers that aren't too thick or matte. Some formulas are just naturally prone to looking cakey. Consider color correcting: If you have very dark under-eye circles, sometimes trying to cover them with just a thick layer of concealer can lead to cakeiness. A light layer of color corrector applied before your concealer can neutralize the darkness, allowing you to use less concealer overall. By incorporating these steps into your routine, you'll be well on your way to saying goodbye to cakey concealer forever and hello to beautifully smooth, bright under-eyes!
