Should I use vitamin c everyday?🍊

A popular skincare product is Vitamin C! I always see people using this product either in the morning or evening.

I know that vitamin C can react badly with other ingredients like BHA or HA or acids in general. Because of this should I still be using it everyday? Currently I’m using it only in the morning so it doesn’t react with any acids!

Does it make a difference of using it everyday or a few times a week? Let me know if I should be using Vitamin C everyday!!

... Read moreFrom my personal experience, incorporating Vitamin C into a daily skincare routine can offer significant benefits, especially for brightening skin tone and improving overall texture. I used to be cautious about using Vitamin C every day because I was worried about how it might react with other active ingredients like BHA (beta hydroxy acid) or hyaluronic acid (HA). However, I found that applying Vitamin C in the morning and reserving acids for the evening helped prevent any unwanted reactions. Many people prefer using Vitamin C serums from brands like InnisFree, which offers Green Tea Enzyme Vitamin C Brightening Serums and Toner Pads known for their gentle yet effective formulations. These products helped me achieve a radiant complexion without irritation. On days when I forget to apply Vitamin C or need a break, I notice my skin loses some of that bright glow, which tells me that consistent use is key. It is important to understand that Vitamin C is an antioxidant that protects the skin from environmental stressors like pollution and UV damage when used properly. Using it every day, particularly in the morning, enhances this protective effect. However, if your skin is sensitive, you might start with a few times a week and gradually increase frequency as your skin builds tolerance. Avoid mixing Vitamin C with strong acids in the same routine because it can destabilize Vitamin C and reduce its effectiveness. Instead, alternate Vitamin C in the morning with acids at night or use different days for each. Overall, I recommend trying daily use if your skin tolerates it well, focusing on gentle, well-formulated products like those I mentioned. This approach balances brightening benefits with skin comfort, making your skincare routine both effective and sustainable.

Hi! Dr. Lex here. Yes — most people can use Vitamin C daily, especially in the morning! 🍊 It’s great for brightening, fading dark spots, supporting collagen, and adding antioxidant protection under sunscreen. Products like Caudalie Vinoperfect Brightening Dark Spot Serum and Innisfree Green Tea Enzyme Vitamin C Brightening Serum are gentle enough for regular use if your skin tolerates them well. You actually can combine Vitamin C with acids sometimes, but sensitive skin may get irritated if you layer too many strong actives together. Using Vitamin C in the morning and exfoliating acids at night is a smart routine. If your skin gets irritated, start with 3-4 times weekly and slowly increase frequency. Love this!
