The Science of Stress and How to Recover Mind # 3 l Grounding Technique

When anxious and trembling...Let's throw away the "anchor."

Pull the consciousness back with 5-4-3-2-1 technique.

Have you ever been?

When worrying about organized work or experiencing a sudden shock...

The heart will beat. The distracted thoughts will all hit each other.

Like we slipped into space

Or being hit by a storm until unable to find the way back to the shore

Psychologically, when the emotional part of the brain

Working too hard, we'll be out of the present.

Our hearts will float to worry about the unborn future.

Or get caught up in an irreparable past.

Imagine us as a "small boat."

When hit by a storm, the idea raged. If left, the ship could be upside down.

What we need to do most urgently is not shout orders to stop the storm (because it can't stop immediately).

But to "drop anchor."

Get down and hold on to the sand as tightly as possible.

To keep the ship calm, not floating further.

How to drop anchor (Grounding Technique 5-4-3-2-1):

This is how to "emergency mind first aid."

That will bring us back to "here and now" (Here & Now).

Through all 5 senses

(Scroll through the illustration to see the detailed process.)

The next time I feel so pannic, anxious, or overthinking that I can't sleep.

Don't fight the idea in your head...But bring attention back to "the body."

Gradually see...Gradually. Touch...Slowly breathe.

And the storm in my heart will slowly calm down.

Save this post as your "anchor"!
