Honesty overrated?
The Authenticity Project turned out to be so much more than a cosy read for me ✨
At its heart, this book is really about what happens when people stop pretending.
So many of the characters were lonely in their own ways, hiding disappointments, insecurities, regrets, or versions of themselves they thought the world expected. But the moment honesty entered their lives, real connection started to happen.
And I think that’s what stayed with me most…
authenticity is scary… but it’s also what allows genuine friendships to grow.
Not perfect friendships. Not curated friendships.
Real ones.
The kind where people see the messy parts of you and stay anyway.
As women over 40, I think many of us are slowly learning to return to ourselves after years of performing roles for everyone else. This book felt like a gentle reminder that there’s freedom in being honest about who we are, what we want, and what we’ve been through.
Such a comforting, thoughtful read about friendship, vulnerability, and second chances 💛
