Ep 23: SEASON FINALE: Kazu, 27, TV Producer

It’s only right that we end the season with me being interviewed. (although not planned… thanks Anj!) If you know me, you know that I’ve been pushing the Asian representation envelope for as long as I can remember. It’s the whole reason why I started this show. Born and Raised in LA as a Japanese American I never felt at a huge disadvantage nor did I experience blatant racism. However when it became about hook up culture and beauty standards I suddenly felt less. Can you name an Asian Leonardo DiCaprio? Yes, with the rise of Kpop and emersion of asian film/TV it’s definitely gotten better but there is still yet to be a hot Asian Male lead that is NOT surrounded by all an asian cast or portrayed with asian tropes (Crazy Rich Asians, Shang Chi, Beef etc) Someone like me who grew up with all types of races on screen. Through my job at America’s Got Talent, I’ve had the privilege to be in a position where I can push this envelope and directly affect how Hollywood tells Asian stories and I’m so grateful for that but my ultimate dream is to be on screen myself to be the first ever Asian talk show host! #fyp #asianrepresentation #interview #talkshow
