Cardio was a mistake
Many people start cardio workouts with high hopes of boosting their health and fitness, but quickly realize it can be surprisingly challenging. The feeling of trying to 'look mysterious at the gym' while actually 'fighting for your life' after just one set is all too real for beginners and even experienced athletes. From my own experience, cardio can sometimes feel like a grueling task that drains you energetically and mentally. However, it’s important to understand that cardio alone isn’t always the best or only way to achieve your fitness goals. Balancing cardio with strength training, proper rest, and nutrition can create a more sustainable and enjoyable workout routine. For instance, incorporating interval training or varying your cardio exercises—like cycling, swimming, or hiking—can make workouts less monotonous and more engaging. Additionally, listening to your body is crucial. If cardio leaves you excessively exhausted every time, it might be worth reducing intensity or duration and adding more recovery days. Remember, fitness is a personal journey; what works for one person may not work for another. The key is finding a routine you enjoy and that supports your overall well-being without feeling like a constant battle. Cardio isn’t a mistake, but it needs to be tailored to your fitness level and goals, combining fun, challenge, and progress in a balanced way.
