A storage container for "lifelong goods" found after 10 years of use
For kitchen tools, I try to choose "white" with a sense of cleanliness as much as possible.
However, the lid of our storage container, iwaki's pack and range, was "green."
When I bought it 10 years ago, it still didn't have white.
When the white lid was released later, I immediately felt like buying a new one.
However, it is a waste to let go of something that can still be used just because "I want to change the color."
Thinking so, I have continued to use it carefully for 10 years.
The transparency of green is also beautiful and I didn't dislike it.
Finally the other day, the lid finally started to crack, so I updated the lid to white.
What surprised me was that even though I used it every day for 10 years, the glass body did not crack or chip.

「iwakiのガラス保存容器、丈夫で大好きなんだけど“収納がごちゃつく”」って、私もずっと悩んでました。特にパック&レンジはサイズが増えるほど棚の中がパズル化しがち。ここでは、私が落ち着いたやり方（＝取り出しやすく、見た目も整う）をまとめます。 1) 収納の基本は「サイズを3軍に分ける」 まず全部を同列に並べようとしないのがコツでした。わが家は ・よく使う（毎日/作り置き） ・週1くらい ・来客/保存用 の3つに分けて、1軍だけを“ゴールデンゾーン（目線〜腰の高さ）”へ。出番が少ないものは上段か奥でもOKにすると、棚の中が一気にラクになります。 2) ガラス本体は「同サイズ同士で積み重ね」＋“最大3段まで” ガラス容器は重ねられるのが強み。私は同じサイズだけを縦に積んで、違うサイズは混ぜません。混ぜると取り出すたびに崩れてストレスでした。 それと、積み重ねは3段までに制限。4段以上は安定して見えても、毎日の出し入れで結局ガタつきます。 3) フタ（白い蓋/緑の蓋）は「立てて収納」が最強 フタを本体に全部付けたまま収納すると、どうしてもかさばります。わが家は ・本体は積み重ね ・フタはファイルボックスや仕切りケースに“立てる” にしたら、棚の面積がかなり空きました。ポイントは「サイズ別にゾーン分け」すること。同じ列に“白い蓋”を並べると、パッと見で揃って見えて気持ちいいです。 4) 「フタだけ買える」を前提に、劣化チェックの習慣を 10年使って感じたのは、割れやすいのはやっぱりフタ側ということ。端のヒビ、反り、閉まりの甘さが出たら無理せず交換が安心です。パーツだけ買えるのは、長く使うほどありがたいポイントでした。 5) 棚の中は“定位置を決めてラベリング”で迷子防止 サイズが増えると、戻す場所が曖昧になって散らかります。私は棚板に「この列は800ml」「ここは浅型」みたいに、マステで軽く目印を作りました。家族も戻しやすくなって、整った状態が続きます。 iwakiのガラス容器は、見た目の清潔感もいいし、何より本体が丈夫。収納は工夫でかなり改善できるので、まずは“本体は積む・フタは立てる・サイズで分ける”の3つから試してみるのがおすすめです。
