If you have extra time, taking a half-day excursion to a nearby motu, or small uninhabited island, is a must-do. These white sandy beaches offer a perfect spot to relax and soak in the sun away from any crowd—an experience of pure tranquility and escape. Reaching Bora Bora requires some planning: flying from Japan to Tahiti’s Papeete is about 11–15 hours with possible connections, then a short 50-minute domestic flight brings you to this magical island.
