🔥 You Can’t Return to a Jesus You Never Followed

For generations, America has wrapped itself in Christian language while tolerating slavery, segregation, lynching, voter suppression, and systemic injustice. Jesus never preached racial hierarchy. He never endorsed oppression. He stood with the marginalized, challenged corrupt power, and called for justice.

The uncomfortable truth is that many don't want to return to Jesus—they want to return to a time when their power went unchallenged. Real faith isn't nostalgia for dominance. It's courage, compassion, accountability, and justice for all.

If we truly want revival, it starts with honesty about our history and a commitment to building a future that reflects the values Jesus actually taught: love, dignity, equality, and mercy.

Please follow @queen.of.her.pride for more conversations on faith, justice, equality, and spiritual freedom. ❤️✝️

... Read moreReflecting on the powerful message that America cannot return to a Jesus it never truly followed, I’ve realized how often faith is misused to justify social and political injustice. Personally, I have witnessed conversations where people claim to follow Christian values while ignoring systemic issues that harm others. It can feel frustrating when religion is used as a shield rather than a force for genuine change. From my experience, real faith demands more than rituals or nostalgia for a past that excluded and oppressed. It requires us to confront uncomfortable truths about history — slavery, segregation, voter suppression — and challenge traditions that uphold racial hierarchy and injustice. Jesus’ teachings focus on uplifting the marginalized and calling out corrupt power, which inspires me to think critically about what revival means today. The phrase seen in the article’s image, “America is going back to Jesus,” struck me as ironic because it’s impossible to return to an ideal that never existed authentically. Instead, what we truly need is honesty, accountability, and renewed commitment to compassion and equality. Engaging with faith-related social justice initiatives has shown me how important it is to integrate these principles into everyday life. Whether through community action or personal reflection, embracing Jesus’ real message means standing firmly against oppression and working toward inclusive change. In summary, this insight has encouraged me to be more mindful of how faith is represented and practiced—not as a tool for dominance, but as a way to promote dignity, freedom, and mercy for all. Only then can we build a future that truly reflects the values Jesus taught.
