My thought: Long Island City

Wanna find a cool cycling route? Williamsburg Bridge to Allen St turn into 1st Ave. Then take 1st Ave all the way to Queensboro Bridge you will end up in Long Island City. You can go up the Queens blvd route or take the Pulaski Bridge. Have a go at it and let me know.
