Do you exfoliate your scalp?

Growing up I only was taught to exfoliate my face but in working in the beauty industry, I’ve learned that there are many areas of our body that should be exfoliated, one being the scalp! Exfoliating the scalp can:

1. Improve hair growth: By removing buildup, it allows hair follicles to function optimally.

2. Enhance scalp health: Helps prevent dandruff, itchiness, and other scalp issues.

3. Increase product efficacy: Clears the scalp for better absorption of serums, oils, and treatments.

4. Enhance shine: By removing buildup, hair appears shinier and healthier.

5. Promote a clean feeling: Leaves the scalp feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.

Mine scalp scrub is a 2 in 1 working as a shampoo as well with ingredients like vitamin B5, pink clay, apple cider vinegar, superfruit AHAs and rejuveniqe.

... Read moreOkay, so I used to think scalp exfoliation was just another beauty trend, but let me tell you, it's seriously changed my hair game! After discovering its amazing benefits, I've made it a regular part of my routine, and my scalp has never felt healthier. If you're wondering how to get rid of dead scalp skin or *what to use to exfoliate your scalp*, you've come to the right place! First off, let's talk about the *types of scalp exfoliation*. You've got physical exfoliants, like my favorite 2-in-1 scalp scrub shampoo, which use small particles (think sugar, salt, or even fine beads) to physically buff away dead skin cells and product buildup. Then there are chemical exfoliants, often found in liquid treatments, that use alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) or beta hydroxy acids (BHAs) to gently dissolve buildup. Both are fantastic, it just depends on your preference and scalp sensitivity. Sometimes, I even use a head scrubber in the shower for an extra massage and to help lift flakes, realizing the amazing head scrubber benefits first-hand. So, *how do you actually do it*? It's pretty simple! If you're using a scrub, I usually apply it to a wet scalp before shampooing, gently massaging it in small circular motions for a few minutes, focusing on areas where I feel the most buildup or itchiness. Then, I rinse thoroughly. If it's a liquid exfoliant, I apply it to my scalp (sometimes dry, sometimes damp, depending on the product instructions) and let it sit for the recommended time before washing. I find that doing this 1-2 times a week is perfect for me. Over-exfoliating can be counterproductive, so listen to your scalp! The biggest game-changer for me was seeing how much it helped with *dead skin scalp removal*. Before, I'd sometimes get flaky patches, especially in drier months. Now, my scalp feels so clean and less prone to itchiness. Plus, the article mentioned how it improves hair growth and enhances product efficacy – and I totally agree! My hair feels lighter, and I swear my hair masks work better after a good exfoliation. It’s like clearing the path for all the good stuff to get in. These are just some of the incredible *benefits of scalp exfoliation*. When choosing a *scalp exfoliating scrub*, look for ingredients that nourish as well as exfoliate. My current favorite has *vitamin B5, pink clay, apple cider vinegar, and superfruit AHAs*. These ingredients not only help to remove buildup but also soothe and balance the scalp, which is key for long-term *scalp health*. If you're experiencing severe dandruff or persistent *itchiness*, exfoliating can really help clear out the debris that contributes to those issues. It’s truly a foundational step for healthy, shiny hair. Don't skip this essential *hair exfoliation*!
