IS OVERWATCH A DEAD GAME???
I think overwatch is still okay but the fun of it just isn’t the same anymore it’s literally boring and slow paced asf
As someone who's poured countless hours into Overwatch since its original launch, stepping into Overwatch 2 feels... different. The initial excitement has definitely worn off, and I find myself agreeing with the sentiment that it's become a bit 'boring and slow-paced.' It's not just a feeling; there are concrete reasons why the long-term player experience has shifted for many of us. One of the biggest changes, of course, was the move from 6v6 to 5v5. While the intention was to make the game faster and less chaotic, I personally feel it's had the opposite effect in some ways. With only one tank, the flow of battle often feels more rigid, relying heavily on that single tank's performance. The dynamic interplay between two tanks, creating space and protecting the team, is gone. This can lead to slower pushes and less spontaneous, thrilling moments. It often feels like if your tank isn't performing, the entire team struggles to get a proper push going, making matches feel like a grind rather than a fluid back-and-forth. Then there's the hero balance. Remember when every hero felt unique and offered distinct gameplay? Lately, it feels like certain heroes dominate the meta for extended periods, making matches feel repetitive. For example, some might argue that certain hitscan heroes have become almost too dominant, simplifying the gameplay loop for damage dealers. While landing a perfect headshot with Widowmaker is always satisfying, especially when you clinch a 5-player kill streak, the overall impact of individual skill moments feels less significant if the team composition or meta heavily favors a few select heroes. It diminishes the feeling of variety and strategic depth that kept me hooked for so long. Beyond gameplay, the content release schedule and monetization model have also played a significant role in changing my opinion. As a long-term player, I used to look forward to new heroes, maps, and events that truly changed how the game was played. Now, new content often feels less impactful, and the push towards battle passes and cosmetics can sometimes overshadow the core gameplay experience. It makes you wonder if the focus has shifted from innovative gameplay to seasonal grind. The overall community vibe has also changed. What was once a vibrant, passionate community often feels more jaded now. While every game has its ups and downs, the consistent feedback about matchmaking, balance, and content has created an atmosphere where it's harder to just jump in and have 'pure fun' without feeling the weight of these ongoing discussions. So, while Overwatch 2 isn't 'dead' in the literal sense, the magic that kept me engaged for years has definitely faded. It's a different game now, and for long-term players like me, that difference often means a less exciting, more predictable experience. I still dip in occasionally, hoping for that spark, but it's rare to find the same level of enjoyment I once did.
