📄 My Favorite Quotes: “The success we want is what God considers success, not success as the

💭 My Thoughts: I absolutely love the book. It was interesting how I came about it. I was tired of the person that I was and I just wanted to change of any kind. My soul was craving for a change and just to better myself and be different. Well in search of that, I had came across a book online called “7 Habits of Highly Effective People” so I was on my way to Barnes & Nobles for it. I saw right at the entrance “Self Growth”, so in my mind I thought that’s where it will be. I was standing there staring at the section and I couldn’t find it and I was just lost and overwhelmed because the location I went to was huge it had two floors. Well in the midst of contemplating whether I should give up and go home, a girl came up to me. She asked about my tattoo I had behind my ear which was the symbols (if you’ve seen the bracelet you know but let me know if y’all let me know if you want to see my tattoo!) He came, he died, he arose, he went back, and he’s coming back. She complimented me on it and she asked me about what church did I go to, if I’m being honest I haven’t found one yet just because the churches I’ve been interested in some don’t feel truly authentic, judgmental or I feel like they’ve lost the reason why they were doing this in the first place so truthfully I haven’t found a church to attend. In essence I gave her a condensed version of what I explained. She was like I understand and she was talking to me about a couple she came across and said they were amazing and wanted to be like them. Long story short she invited me we exchanged information and I went back to looking at the books and immediately was drawn to it. I can’t express the calm and peacefulness of the book when I read the first sentence. As soon as I picked up the book I couldn’t put it down. I recommend whole heartedly if you need some type of direction to want to grow your relationship with god I’m so happy that that was the first book I read and started with!

... Read moreIt's so easy to feel adrift sometimes, isn't it? We all search for a sense of direction, a 'pathway to success' that truly resonates with our deepest values, especially when our souls are craving a change, just like mine was. When I first picked up 'The Pathway to Success' by Joyce Meyer, I was in a place of questioning, wondering why certain challenges popped up in life and how to navigate God's often mysterious timing. This book really helped me unpack those feelings, offering a fresh perspective on what success truly means from a spiritual standpoint.
One of the biggest takeaways for me was understanding patience – not just waiting, but actively trusting. It’s about recognizing that God’s plan isn't always our timeline, and sometimes, the detours are actually part of the divine route to a greater destination. This book encourages you to lean into those moments of uncertainty, finding strength and purpose even when the 'why' isn't immediately clear. It’s a powerful lesson in surrendering control and embracing a deeper faith, which honestly, is a constant journey of self-improvement for any Christian. For many, finding such clarity can feel like discovering a hidden gem amidst a sea of options, similar to how one might seek out resources for building new habits or overcoming obstacles in daily life.
Another aspect that deeply resonated was the distinction between worldly success and God's success. We often chase external validations, but 'The Pathway to Success' gently guides you back to an internal compass, helping you define meaning and purpose through a spiritual lens. This isn't about ignoring ambition; it's about aligning your ambitions with a higher calling, ensuring your efforts are not just productive but also profoundly fulfilling. It helps you ask: Am I chasing what the world tells me to, or am I truly listening to where God is leading me? This kind of reflection is crucial for anyone seeking to live a more intentional and impactful life, and it's a theme that Joyce Meyer masterfully explores, offering relatable examples that make profound concepts accessible.
If you're on a journey of personal growth, whether you're exploring Christian self-help for the first time or looking for renewed inspiration, books like 'The Pathway to Success' can serve as incredible guides. They offer practical wisdom rooted in faith, helping you apply spiritual truths to everyday challenges. For instance, grappling with feelings of being lost or overwhelmed, as I described in my original review, is a common experience. This book provides a gentle, encouraging voice that helps you find your footing, reminding you that you're not alone in seeking a deeper connection and a purposeful existence. It truly helps to cement the idea that our spiritual path is intrinsically linked to our overall well-being and sense of accomplishment, whether we're trying to build new routines or simply find peace in our daily walk. It’s about cultivating a mindset where every step, even the challenging ones, ultimately contributes to a richer, more meaningful life guided by faith.
