But instead of the ranch, we're going to dive into a world of vibrant Mexican flavors. My absolute favorite way to make a Mexican garbanzo snack is to use a blend of classic spices. After draining and patting your chickpeas dry – this is crucial for maximum crispiness, trust me! – you can toss them with a drizzle of olive oil. Then, for that authentic Mexican vibe, I mix together about a teaspoon of chili powder, half a teaspoon of ground cumin, a quarter teaspoon of smoked paprika (for that lovely depth!), a pinch of garlic powder, and a tiny dash of cayenne pepper if you like a bit of heat. Sometimes I'll even add a little onion powder for extra savory goodness. Once they're coated, you can either pan-fry them until golden and crunchy, or even roast them in the oven at around 400°F (200°C) for about 20-30 minutes, tossing halfway.
