The yarn vs what i made ⭐️

This is my take on the yarn versus the project. These pants took me about 2 to 3 weeks to make and then an extra week to add the stars on them. Finished right before my Chance the Rapper concert tomorrow.

Do you guys like my pants?! These are thick enough to become my new pair of sweatpants for the winter time, the only thing is I would have to wear leggings underneath it.

Pattern I use is a video on YouTube from Azariah Crochets. The way in which I did some part of the areas are not the same as if she did however, it still came out the same way.

The pattern only consisted of you needing a granny squares, the same size and then two smaller panels that will work up at the top. The only thing that I would change is instead of making the waistband, the granny square clusters I would just do it in either HDC or SC just to avoid having to wear a pair of short shorts underneath these pants. For the waist as well I also added an elastic band just so it’ll sit how I wanted it to.

... Read moreCrocheting your own pants is a rewarding way to mix fashion with handcraft. When making crochet pants, choosing the right yarn is crucial for comfort, warmth, and durability. Thicker yarns like bulky or super bulky weights provide the coziness required for winter wear, which I found after experimenting with different yarns for this project. The granny squares technique offers versatility and a charming retro look, but it can be challenging to ensure all squares are uniform in size for a smooth assembly. A helpful tip is to block your granny squares before joining, which involves wetting and pinning them flat to dry, so seams align better. For waistbands, I recommend considering sturdier stitches such as half double crochet (HDC) or single crochet (SC) instead of clusters, as this creates less stretch and less need to layer underneath. Adding an elastic band inside the waistband is a smart way to customize fit and maintain comfort throughout the day. If you’re new to pants or clothing crochet projects, watching detailed tutorials like those from Azariah Crochets on YouTube can be invaluable. Feel free to adapt patterns to suit your style and comfort needs, such as tweaking lengths or adding decorative elements like stars. Wearing leggings underneath can improve warmth and modesty when using looser patterns. Finally, joining crochet communities online—whether through #crochetcommunity or specific creator groups—can provide support, inspiration, and feedback. Sharing your journey, like I did, turns crafting into a creative adventure that connects you with others. Whether for a concert or everyday wear, handmade crochet pants are a cozy, unique statement piece worth the effort!
